Thanks to Bouygues Energies & Services, the Waldhaus Flims was equipped with innovative building technology solutions and was able to open in renewed glory. The project held several challenges, such as sensitive building fabric or façades partially listed as protected. Several trades were involved - hence, a classic multitec project.

With "We understand buildings", Bouygues Energies & Services stands for leading expertise and comprehensive services in building technology and management throughout Switzerland. Thanks to the interaction between various trades, the time-honoured Waldhaus Flims was brought into the new millennium in just 100 days.
It was only at the end of July 2016 that Bouygues Energies & Services was awarded the contract for the renovation of the historic Waldhaus Flims. The project is a prime example of an innovative end-to-end solution in building technology, above all because the sensitive building fabric and the façades, some of which are listed as protected, required a great deal of care. With regard to the building technology, the heating, ventilation, sanitation, cooling, electrical and fire alarm systems were replaced - a classic multitec project, as several Bouygues Energies & Services trades were involved in the work. The new ventilation systems now exceed the cantonal energy regulations thanks to integrated heat recovery. New IT infrastructures were also introduced, including an infotainment system with TV and a new building automation system. In addition to this, the individual hotel buildings will reduce their energy consumption and increase energy efficiency through the use of modern equipment and technology standards.
In a project of this size, the biggest challenge, apart from planning and installing numerous technical building systems, was the tight schedule and the recruitment of staff. The Southeast Switzerland region of Bouygues Energies & Services is present in 16 locations and employs around 250 people. "With the multitec approach, we were able to obtain all of the building technology as a complete package from a single source. This was a decisive factor for us in awarding the contract", emphasises Peter Schoch, Director of the Waldhaus Flims. Thanks to the multitec approach, the tight deadline was met and the "Waldhaus Flims Alpine Grand Hotel & Spa" was ceremoniously opened on 9 December, 2016.
