Hotel Edelweiss / Hotel Post, Sils Maria

The Hotel Post was taken over by the owner of the Hotel Edelweiss in 2019. Several modifications were needed in the area of high- and low-voltage and ICT in the course of this takeover. Our employees implemented these reliably to ensure simplified joint administration of the two hotels.

Year 2019

The Hotel Edelweiss is located in the Upper Engadine resort of Sils-Maria. The 4-star hotel offers regular cultural evening events in the historic Art Nouveau hall of the Grand Restaurant. Since 1876, the hosts have combined tradition and modern comfort in 67 Swiss pine wood rooms, 2 restaurants (Grand Restaurant and Arvenstube) with sun terrace and the hotel bar, as well as the wellness area.

Integration ICT and electrical

In May 2019, the Hotel Post in Sils-Maria was taken over by the owner of the Hotel Edelweiss. As the two hotels are located directly next to each other, an underground tunnel was built as a connection for the employees and an above-ground connection for the guests. Due to these connections and consolidation of the management, executives and employees for both hotels, various installation adjustments in the area of high and low voltage installations as well as ICT became necessary.

  • Extension/modification of the existing telephone system (master) in Hotel Edelweiss
  • Delivery, installation and programming of the new telephone system (satellite) in the Hotel Post
  • New fibre-optic line to connect the Post-Edelweiss networks
  • Interconnection of the two telephone systems, connection to the hotel software PROTEL
  • New smartphones, new internet access
  • Provider adjustments
  • Universal communication cabling for WiFi in the Hotel Post

  • Adjustment/relocation and rewiring of numerous lines/cables
  • Adjustments to previous installations
  • Duct and route installations

The two hotels now have a uniform, modern ICT infrastructure with a central telephony solution. The networking of the ICT infrastructure simplifies the joint administration. Support and assistance will be possible via remote maintenance in the future.
