FIEGE Logistik is regarded as a pioneer in contract logistics and has developed since its foundation in 1879 from a transport company to a full-service logistics service provider that operates worldwide. The tradition-conscious company is continually reinventing itself – and in the age of digitalisation and automation remains at the cutting edge.
Consequently, FIEGE Logistik Schweiz AG commissioned Bouygues Energies & Services to replace its outdated telephone systems in all of its seven locations in Switzerland with a modern telephony solution. The focus here was not on modernisation alone; in parallel, a reduction in costs and administrative work was to be achieved. We met these requirements with an innovative and cloud-based telephony solution called Hosted PBX UCC. This is an IP-based communications solution with a virtual telephone system (hosted) and integrated cooperation functions (UCC), which runs on our own private telephone network (PBX).
UCC combines telephony with cooperation tools in a single app for smartphones and computers. As a result, the employees of FIEGE Logistik can choose their means of communication according to the situation. The most important functions are:
- telephony with an individual fixed-line number, even when on the road
- online meetings with anyone thanks to guest access
- chats to clarify brief questions quickly
- screen sharing
There are many different advantages for FIEGE Logistik. Cooperation across locations saves travel costs and time and provides faster answers. UCC does away with barriers to external partners, suppliers and customers. Location independence creates more freedom and works across devices.
