Successful railway safety project for the Lausanne-Echallens-Bercher (LEB) railway line of Transports Publics Lausannois

The project, which was launched together with the teams from Transports Publics Lausannois, is part of the modernisation process of the Cheseaux - Sugnens section of the line and represents an important and indispensable step in view of the introduction of the 15-minute interval of the LEB line between Echallens and Lausanne-Flon planned for 11 August 2019.
The safety installations put into operation include all signalling, protection and rail traffic management systems. Kummler+Matter's services include the development, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the entire systems, including the new interlocking.
The systems is connected via Kummler+Matter's SCTF05-B remote control system, which enables complete system management and will be supplemented in the coming weeks by an automatic train control system. This will enable full automatic management of rail traffic according to the timetable.
The next steps in the modernisation of the line for the West Region team at Kummler+Matter are the renewal of the safety systems at Bercher station and the tunnel at Avenue d'Echallens in Lausanne. These projects are already underway.
